Yoga and Meditation with Gya
About Gya
Gya ,Yoga Teacher and Pranic Healer, was born in the Himalayas and spent the first 18 years of her life there. She had the good fortune to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many other spiritual teachers growing up. Tibetan Buddhism and Goddess practices shaped her upbringing, while she attended a catholic school. As a result of these early experiences, Gya has developed an eclectic approach to spirituality. She was born a seeker, and went through a spiritual awakening around 2010-2011. Soon after that, she found the Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP), and they became the core of her spiritual practice. Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP) are an integrated system of practices covering all eight limbs of yoga.
Gya leads retreats and meditation groups. Some of the AYP spiritual techniques she teaches are: Deep Meditation, Spinal Breathing Pranayama, Mudras, Bandhas, Samyama, Bhakti yoga, Self Inquiry and so on. All levels of asanas(postures) from gentle to vinyasa/power yoga. She offers group classes, private lessons, corporate yoga. She dances along the edge of inner and outer, and bridges the chasm between spiritual and mundane, and in this union arises a lucid aliveness that permeates every waking moment of her journey.

Yogani is her primary teacher on the spiritual path. Paramahansa Yogananda, Ramana Maharishi, Shirdi Sai Baba, Sally Kempton, Dr Ian Baker, Paul Muller-Ortega, Patanjali are some of the other teachers who have been sources of inspiration. She is drawn to Kashmir Shaivism and Tibetan Buddhism.
In her professional life, Gya works for a Global Investment Management Bank.

Testimonials
"I've attended two yoga retreats led by Gya over Zoom. I really had a great time. Gya's kind-hearted nature and experience made for a smooth and rejuvenating time. I like the fact that she humbly speaks from experience and leaves ample room for participants to share their experiences, thoughts, questions and comments." Vincent Randy
"Another successful retreat, I like your relax attitude towards teaching, it is very therapeutic for the mind.
You are very knowledgeable of the AYP techniques but also you know about the more traditional systems and that is useful when dealing with students from other traditions.
Thanks for the discussion time, it a great opportunity for us to seek help or give it. Well done Gya!" A.C.
“Thank you for leading such an exceptional retreat, Gya. It was a wonderful and welcoming experience. Since it is such a new world to me, I really value everyone sharing their own experiences and opinions. Delving into the literature is an exciting learning adventure, but it can be a solitary journey. While this has often been a preferred method of mine, in terms of navigating the world when learning new things, I find that your retreats, due to the interchanging of ideas, offer a very grounding experience. Most of all it is a great way to keep inspired and dedicated to the practice.”E.F.
"I loved Gya's warm and welcoming nature in the retreat. The sessions were meticulously designed to engage all participants including beginners like myself to advanced practitioners. The knowledge of practices and the wisdom in the details of the practices will be very beneficial in my daily yoga practice. Our meeting & practicing together has definitely helped enhance my Bhakti." S.R.

" The class was outstanding. It turns out that Satsang was probably the most meaningful aspect to me. I have never had an opportunity to connect one-on one with anyone regarding this particular practice “AYP”, so hearing stories and sharing my own experience was a wonderful practice. Another thing I will remember about the retreat was a few moments where I could sense myself getting out of my own space during DM and really tapping into the group mind. The moments were fleeting, probably due to my own limitations and willingness to really let myself dissolve enough, but it was eye opening ("I"-opening) to get that next "level of letting go" ."
